fcz2fu8e7.exe, and msupd95948.exe.

These two files appeared in task manager the other night after a stumble in IE7, resulting in windows being unable to use my network port, total loss of restore points, very slow running, and an inability to repair or re-install using the XP cd.

I've searched and searched, and I can't get any results for these two files anywhere! I've had to remove the affected drive and do a clean install on my back-up drive.

None of the AV websites seem to have heard of these files either, yet, so this could be an early warning!

Also note that despite deleting all traces of both files they kept re-appearing!

The fcz file kept coming up with a warning message saying that the memory could not be read, Memory passed memtest no problem before reinstall though, and AVG7.5 can't find anything hanging around.

^^(tj86)^^ Spent 6 hours re-installing last night!

Question is do I risk re-connecting the affected drive as D:, and delete partion/re-partion/format or throw it in the bin? (bearing in mind it's a 28GB maxtor ata-133)

The affected windows installation is still on the drive, I was unable to wipe it.
I removed the drive and installed windows on what was my D: drive.

If I put the affected drive back in as D:, what are the chances of it killing off my new install?
