Hi,

Is it safe to remove this folder?
I like to keep things tidy

It should be yes. It's normally used by nvidia setup programs (forceware for their graphics cards) to uncompress driver files into. It's a temporary location so it should be fine to remove.

it is fine to remove, its only there for extraction purposes, just delete it.

once you've installed the drivers (and maybe done 1 reboot as it asks you to) its fine to delete
