I have Ghosts and have played MW3 on my boys XBOX. I fancy playing another one but I'm not in to multiplayer. The entire franchise is reduced on Steam just now - which one would you recommend for the single campaign?

Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2, and Black Ops 1 and 2 have fantastic single player campaigns.

Either of those are good picks, if you don't want them all.

:D

My order would go:

Modern Warfare > Black Ops 1 > Modern Warfare 2 > Black Ops 2

I think COD 4: Modern Warfare was one of the better storylines

World at war wasn't too bad (drove me nuts trying to finish it on Veteran)

Either way you can pick them up cheaper on cdkeys.com

Went for Black Ops 1 from cdkeys for £4.99. COD 4 was out of stock. Think I'll work my way through them all though. I used to find them quite boring but then up until recently I played everything the xbox controller - different experience playing with the mouse and keyboard...

Problem with CoD4 is you then need to buy Cod 5 to carry the story on.

You mean mw2/6 which is the sequel. And technically you don't as the story doesn't end on a cliffhanger, all loose ends are tied up as they didn't know how much of a success the game was going to be.

I'd love to pick World at War up but I've already finished the single player many times and can't imagine the multiplayer being active anymore. Same with MW2, last time I tried to play it on PC the lobbies were full of hackers, I couldn't find a single game where people weren't flying in the air and one shotting people from outside the map.
