C Walking - Anyone able to do this?

As someone with two left feet and no sense of rhythm, I always admire anyone who can dance well - regardless of whether I like the dance or not.

Even if I could dance, that wouldn't be the dance for me as I can't stand that "Gangsta" "music".

I struggle with the aforementioned Gay Gordons, never mind anything with intricate steps/moves :o

I'll just stick to dancing like your embarrassing uncle :p

Stan :)

I dont quite understand the point of it. Is that all you do for the whole time? It would look alrite if it was like a 5 second thing which went into some breakdancing moves, but on its own its pretty dumb imo. However i will say that its probably good exercise, which at the moment is what kids need.

  • It takes a lot of skill
  • The girls will love you
  • Good exercise
  • Makes you feel good/happy/confident
  • IT'S FUN!!!
  • Skill? Practice I'd say.
  • I don't care if they love me or not - they can want.
  • So are other forms of excercise, where you don't look a complete plonker.
  • Is that what it takes to make you feel good/happy/confident? Personally, I'd want something more rewarding.
  • So is sex - does that mean we should all go and do it, for the sake of it?

WOAH! My father has parkinsons disease and I REALLY do not appreciatte comments like that, totally uncalled for!!! NEVER mock or use a disease that millions suffer from in vein or in jest, very disrespectful!

He didn't mock people with Parkinsons, he mocked people who c-walk. It's different.

For a hardcore gangster homie, you're very touchy. Relax.

Looks easy to do

Wouldn't impress me if I saw it, but if you like it go for gold.

Have you any idea what a C Walk actually is?

It's not a dance move, it's a taunt. It was started by the Crips (a notorious LA based gang) to taunt members of opposing gangs.

Word.

i can crip-walk in fact i can do most style of urban dancing and before anyone starts dissing - this is a part of urban culture not british culture and im not white, you dont see me slagging off your irish jigs, highland dancing etc so i dont expect to see the same, and yes it does get you loads of birds because believe it or not 95% of the caucasion girls in an urban club dont wanna go home with a caucasian male doing classic caucasian dancing

Can you teach me please?!

As someone said earlier, looking at those vids with the sound off really gives you a good laugh to say the least.

I cant dance and I know it but thank God I don't inflict myself upon others on YouTube. :D

(This has been an official Generation Gap Broadcast) ;)

Must laugh at the "if you dont like this you must be really really young or you should go make new friends" comments ive seen. Must admit my 30+ year old friends would really think i was a smooth moving homie if i busted these moves out while having a swift pint.

Sure its cool to you, but different strokes for different folks, saying people must be "young" because they dont appreciate the things you might like is idiotic at best, especially with a name like Collin Da Gangsta, what are you 14?

Not read the whole thread, but it looks pretty neat, gunna have a go tommorrow. I love dancing, and trying something new is always fun, and adds something new to the arsenal :D

*EDIT* After watching a few more videos, I thought I had seen it somewhere else before though, and then i had a quick look around. It seems MJ has used this in some of his routines and from what i could see, only when wearing blue!

i find that you can lead a camel to water but you cant force it to drink, either your a natural good dancer or you aint, just like some people are natural athletes and others aint, to perfect this type of dance takes years, i didnt need any lessons, i just watched other people and i was a good dancer to begin with, to be honest with you it is a very immature style of dancing, i stopped doing it about a year ago, i now mainly do sliding, which is what usher is quite good at, my advice to anyone wanting to do this would be unless your 15-18 dont bother its an immature form now for wannabe's and anyone over the age of 21 if you need lessons on how to dance you aint got it your better off not trying any form of dance because no woman is gonna go near you if they see you doing your mr bean moves on the floor, for the original poster - there are urban dance classes in glasgow, the best way to learn is to watch then go home and try not in public, i have no idea where the classes are but i know they are near george square i think, the reason why i know this is because i was told by some "pro urban dancers" from glasgow to go there and "train" with their team, there was in fact a competition and the team from glasgow actually got to the finals in london

i agree.

and "the girls will love you"? yeah, well maybe the ones dressed in burberry...

Newsflash: Your dancing skill has little affect on whether girls like you on the dancefloor. Just thought i'd mention that :p

Unless your dancing like a complete ponce ofcourse ;)
