Can anyone tell me how much of C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution (447MB) & C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles (569MB) it is safe to delete on a fresh, activated, updated Windows XP Pro SP3 system?
I am aware that one will apparently encounter no problems (except with rolling back patches) if you delete C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download.
Is there anything else that I can safely delete? I would very much like to reclaim the 1GB or so of wasted HDD space before making a recovery image copy.
I do wish that Micrsoft would do more to help with keeping redundant clutter off my system. I know that Java is even worse so far as leaving litter on your system is concerned
