Something i noticed that was installed when i installed 3dmark06. I think it added a dll file. It gave me a notice saying that it was updating something.
When i installed The Witcher this then updated the c+++ thing... and bang i lost 40 points on 3dmark06.

Anyone know what this is?

It basically allows programs to run, as it contains certain instructions for machines without Visual C++.

40points is nothing anyway, thats well within margin of error.

40 points? You expect around this level as a margin for error anyway.

Do a hard-reboot, disable any unneccesary active processes, and then run the same banchmark three times at identical settings. See how much the score fluctuates by...
