I have these two CPUs, I need to sell one (to my Granny, but I won't be accepting much from her, if anything).

From my quick googlings it looks like I should use the E6300 in my server. But the Pentium D 820 is clocked faster. But the E6300 has a 65w TDP and the 820 is 95w.

Just wanting to get an OCUK members answer, as I trust you guys more than Google. :p

EDIT: E6300 support virtualisation as well I think?

The e6300 is the faster chip you should overclock it, and dont be mean and give the other processer to your nan im sure she has given you a life time of love.:D

It's going in my server so I won't bother overclocking it unless I absolutely have to.

I'm trying to force it on her for nothing at the moment, but she's insisting on giving me what I'd get if I sold it on ebay. I told her the board, CPU and RAM would only be worth about £25 but she's not having any of it. :(

Reliability and power consumption are more important here. I've got my desktop for overclocking. :P
