With the kit i have in my sig, what would be a reasonable overclock to expect ?

I was assuming that 3.2 would be acheivable on air.

Also, should i be looking at say fsb of 400 X 8 on the multiplier ?

Would appreciate input from other's with similar kit to mine.

Cheers.

fsb won't start at 400 from stock. 3.2 is quite a nice overclock but it may be possible to go higher.

the multipliers are locked so you can't go up, only down except on the really high end chips.

Top multi on the 6420 is 8 which is the default multi, as someone else said you can clock the multi down but not up.

You will need to run the memory on a divider, you want it as close to 800Mhz as possible. Some memory you may be able to run at a higher speed than its rated at but you will probably need to up the voltage on the RAM.

Try it in small increments, get it into windows at the fastest speed you can and once you have reached maximum you can start to tweak it and test it with Orthos.

I'd say you are right, its marked System Memory Multiplier, and when you set it it will tell you what the memory is relative to the bus speed.

For 6400 memory you want to try and keep it as close to 800Mhz as possible
