Hello,
I've been told PC2-6400 RAM will go to 3.7GHz without an overclock but I've also seen a thread were a user has posted that PC2-6400 RAM will go to 3.2GHz without an overclock.
If I want to push my Core2Duo E6600 with a Noctua headstink up to 3.2GHz / 3.3GHz which RAM would I need? The GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz or the G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-8000C5?
I want to overclock my E6600 but not to the point things start dying on me after a few months. I'm moving to uni next year and I'll be taking this rig with me. I'm looking at about 14 months before I'll be able to purchase an upgrade.
If you feel 3.2GHz with my setup (see sig) is fine. I'll go with Cob's suggestion and get the GeIL PC2-6400 and send back the PC2-8000 which will be arriving tomorrow morning.
