Hi guys,

Just spoke to Overclockers sales.

They can no longer guarantee me an e0 stepping E8400 and they say that most of their batches will now be the c0 stepping.

I've purchased some decent spec hardware, waiting until lately to finance my CPU. Anyone know how these C0 stepping overclock?

I was hoping something above 4.0GHz on Air with the Sunbeam HSF.

I had a C0 E8500 and it was terrible. I ended up killing it trying to get stable at 4Ghz. I would go elsewhere as there are quite a few places selling E0 steppings with no price premium.

I'm reasonably happy with my C0 e8500 @ 4.1Ghz, but if I were buying now, I'd definitely go for somewhere that can guarantee you an E0. I need nearly 1.4v but temps are being controlled nicely by my xigmatech, tops out at around 67C under benching/stability testing and 3-4C lower when gaming. YMMV of course.
