Intel Core 2 Duo E2180 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.00GHz (800FSB) - Retail £55.21

Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard £76.36

OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK) £35.24

and dont forget the Arctic Freezer 7

The rest in my sig will go in their too, so the ATI Radeon X1950 PRO
Akasa 460W PSU
320Gb SATA 300 drive
etc

When you say not compatible do you just mean it isn't listed as compatible or do they explicitly state that it is non-compatible?

Geil PC6400 C4 is still at a fairly good price I believe and should be compatible with everything. :)

Personally I wouldn't put too much faith in it, the list is very short considering how many possible combinations there are and that is just one of the things you'll find about manufacturer compatability lists. It might be worth doing a quick search of either the Motherboard or Ram sub-forums to see if there are any known incompatabilities but I suspect they will work fine regardless.

The Black Dragon kits are fine as is the ordinary C4 stuff but the Black Dragon seems to be a little cheaper at the moment. I can't see either listed by Gigabyte though on a very quick scan and I know for a fact that there are some users here with the PC6400 C4 and the DS3R. :)

I'm using the Geil PC2-6400 C4, works like a charm in the P35C-DS3R I'm using so don't threat about the compatability. Gigabyte obviously don't have the time nor the patience to list every PC2-6400 memory there is out there!

Don't worry, I have that memory with a Gigabyte P35 motherboard and it is fine. In fact, I have an E2180 aswell and am currently running 24/7 @ 2.5ghz.

Go for it, it is a great value selection.
