Have just recieved my new pc and was wondering what speed to overclock (preferably to safest level possible i.e. not altering any voltages or anything).

Spec:

XFX nforce680i mb
C2D E6600
*edit* Standard CPU fan that comes with
G.Skill PQ series 2x2gb 5-5-5-15

Any other info you need to help please let me know!

You cant really clock it much if you dont change the voltages.

As far as i know, overclocking is pritty safe. You cant really kill anything in your pc from overclocking. When you push the cpu to far then you just wont be able to start the pc up. Then all you have to do is reset the motherboard back to factory settings and it works fine again.

it doesn't fry any parts unless you really put the voltages high. I mean high though and nobody would be stupid enough to do that unless they knew what they were doing.

Someone on here showed me a really good guide for building and over clocking. You can skip to the overclocking part in it as it takes you through all the stages.

it shows its pritty simple, all you gota do is follow it.

Ive skiped it to the start bit just before the overclocking. They run some bench marks so you can see the inital performance of your pc so you can compare:
