C2D Spec me!! :)

Hey guys, finally bitten the bullet and decided to go C2D, i'm going to be selling my 3500+/MSI K7 Neo Platinum4/2gb geil PC3200 and looking to get into C2D's :)

I have a 485 Watt Enermac Noisetaker PSU, i'm presuming this will be enough to run the C2D and everything else the same as now (Sticking with the X850 XT 256 for now)

I'm not sure which one to go for, on one hand, i've never overclocked, on the other hand, i don't wanna spend too much so not sure which to go for? :)

Looking to spend 300-400ish then sell the 3500 parts :)

Any spec would be listened to hapily, just looking for C2D, mobo & memory, maybe extra cooler too, something quiet so the gf doesn't go on about the noise ;)

I did mate, was kinda zombified typing, had to correct so many typos :)

Looks good to me if you think that kit will get the job done, the "only" worry i have is that as i haven't actually OC'ed so might not from the get go, would i be better off getting a faster processor? Or will this still handle well at 1.8?

Nope, not for Video editing mate, maybe a few mini session in Windows Movie maker at best! hehe

This will be really to help me get the most out of of Vista, manage work (Work from home, lots of multi tasking) world of warcraft, music, some dvd watching etc..

If you think it'll do the job as i need then :D

Is the SLi board essential? Or does the best board for my needs just happen to be SLi? :)

2 last things :D

1. My psu should be fine for all this? (keeping the 2 x dvd-rw, 2 x hdd, x850 xt 256, few usb devices etc..)

2. Is the cooler you suggested nice & quiet? Or would it be worth paying more for a more quiet one?

Nope, 2 x sata hard drive, IDE DVD-rw and CD-rw

But just on a query, what would be the other good choices of board?
 
Hey guys! just me again with one more small query!

I've been thinking long & hard and thinking of maybe adding an X1950XT or near equivalent (been offered £260 for the 3500, mobo & 2gb ram w/ x850 by a friend of mine, damn nutter) but my main query now was was the following:

Can i get a good graphics card ie: X1950 etc.. without having to go for a PSU also? or will my current one just not be able to hack it? If not could i get some options on a good idea of a nice graphics card to go with this setup, after going through the finances i'm seeing i have a bit more available than i first thought, but don't wanna go into that *OTT Zone* :)

Hmm..i see, i'm honestly unsure on my current cards power eating habits or anything like that :(

I think the main reason i put off new GFX was because of the need for a new PSU more than likely, could anyone else shed any light on this? :D
