Previously (amd...) i knew which steppings were awesome and which were not, as for the core 2 duo's.... i'm at a complete loss, all i know is that the 'a' are better than 'b' but even then, a fair few people would disagree with me :|

Whats your opinions on decent stepppings?

Cheers,

Phil

B are on average better than A. 27,28,29B steppings are the ones to have if you want the best chances of overclocking past 3.6ghz. Having said that I had a 32A that went to 4ghz orthos stable that I havn't thus far been able to replicate with my current 27B.

Later steppings (38+) seem to be poorer overclockers for some reason so are best avoided if possible. Like most cpu's though this is indication only and there are always exceptions.
