With all the talk of 775 socket coming to an end recently I have been giving some thought to changing my setup to try and minimise my losses moneywise.
The idea being to maybe sell my cpu and mobo now and replace with something newer
With AM3 being relatively new I was thinking maybe a swap to this type of setup with an X3 720 could be a possibility for me. I understand that I wouldnt get a performance gain but maybe a smaller loss of cash if I change now ?
What are your thoughts on this:confused:

Any gains financially would be minimal as you'd be taking a hit from the resale value of your current kit.

I'd just stick where you are and re-evaluate when you decide to go a proper upgrade.

Just because its coming to an end doesnt mean you necessarily have to jump ship. Your pc will still work after production of 775 products ends :p

How about take a good few months, stay on the same setup and save for a spanking new i7 rig when you have enough rupees?

Your best of doing like others have suggested stay with what you got and then later on look and getting new stuff which is better price wise the prices for say i7 should have dropped a fair bit by the end of the year.
