I've had an itch for an V8 for awhile now, the C63 has always been on my whish list, the F80 on the other hand is another great performance car that has dropped in price. I ideally would like to spend 25k, stretching to 30k tops. Thoughts? Is it doable? Are there other better alternatives?

When it comes to the C63, what would be the better car the 6.2l NA or 4.0 Bi-Turbo?

What are you looking for specifically in the car? F87 M2 is worth a shout ;)

I would only consider the M2C, I just want something fun, the BMW drifts well, the Merc on the other hand has the V8 which sounds beefy even with the stock exhaust.

Last fun car I had was the JZX110 MK2 320bhp with a 2way LSD back in 2021, time to get a new toy. :D

Another car I was considering was a 350z or 370z, few small tweaks and its another great car to have some sideways fun in.

A C63 will absolutely help alleviate the itch. I've had a C7 RS6, a F90 M5 and a C205 C63s (and others). The C63s was the most 'fun'. Prior to that I did drive the 6.2 C63, that was something else, stamping on the throttle was - figuratively - like stepping on a landmind. Shame I couldn't find a good one at the time.

I do like the F80 M3 comp however, I still fancy one of those (cos M3 innit). Mustangs are also a good shout.

M2 will be the most "fun" if you want to do something other than burnouts.. As above, OG LCI is brilliant and sounds tremendous without the OPF even on a stock exhaust.
Granted, it's not an AMG 6.2 V8, but that you buy for the engine alone.

C63, NA. Feels like its trying to kill you every time you accelerate but its a hell of an engine. I think 2014 was the last year before they switched to the 4.0 TT version. Newer version is probably a better car but far less sense of theatre from it.

What are the thoughts on IS-F? The prices have shoot up, I remember when 10-12k got you a clean example, but I think its too tame compared to the C63 NA.

I've had an S5 Audi, W204 C63 and 2 V8 Commodores inc an HSV Clubsport in the past and while not the fastest or loudest the S5 was the best of the lot. So much smoother and quicker through the bends and the gearbox when flicked into manual mode was way sharper than the Merc. That double click downshift before a corner was sublime.
However if you want your V8 to be big, obnoxious, loud and very fast then go the C63, the interior seems to have dated faster than it's competitors however.

I had a V8 S5 and whilst I loved it, as soon as I test drove a 6.2 C63 it killed the S5 experience for me. I couldn’t wait to sell it after that. The C63 felt like the real deal. No the interior quality nor infotainment was as good, but the C63 felt absolutely wild.

Another V8 that largely flys under the radar, but is also very enjoyable - the Lexus ISF. It’s like a muscle car in a sharp suit. Fabulously reliable, my only issues were the dated interior and poor rear legroom.

The noise of the 6.2 C63 is truely epic but the gearbox it is mated to isnt great. The 4.0 sounds great and the gearbox is pretty good if its the same wet multiplate one on the E63 and is the better overall package
