C7 Vs. C9

Just been deciding what memory i'd like to get for my setup and can't decided wether getting C& over C9 is worth the extra money. Any opinions on this?

I was looking at

If I took the pepsi challenge on this, would I be able to blindly tell any difference. HD Video editing is probably the most memory intensive thing that I will be doing.

Is the £40 justified?

the cas7 is generally 150-160........... ive seen it as low as 142 in the recent past
i just found it now for 159, in stock, from a reputable e-tailor.... and thats with only spending 20 seconds looking
i will probly grab some myself as thats all i need to compleate my system. dunno why OC wanna charge so much for it :/

memory seems to be about the least bang-for-buck component there is, by a long way :p at least for games, there are plenty of benchmarks out there showing a difference of < 5fps from value memory (1333/c9) to expensive memory (1600/c7).

that's just games tho. I wouldn't have a clue what effect they'd have on video encoding. if nothing else, your memory benchmarks would be better (lol).
 
Day to day it won't really be noticable but things like transcoding will show the lower latancy by taking less time. If you are going to go for the c7 at that price you can get better performance from the c6 rated gskill tridents for under £170. They do have tall heatsinks though if that's a problem. Already recommended them to someone else today :)

Lol yeah, i have used gskill ram for ages its very good. Might even get a set of the tridents for me rebuild.
