Hi all,

I have just bought a new desk with a cabinet designed to house a pc tower. All good except my pc shut it self down today. When I opened the cabinet door, it was like an oven so I assumed the PC overheated and turned it self off. Now running with the door open and a desk fan cooling it!

Anyway, I plan to fit some cooling fans to the carcass of the cabinet to try an eliminate this problem further.

I've had a look online but can't really see anything that looks any good. Can anyone recommend a fan I could retro-fit to the cabinet. I assume mains powered rather than USB would be better maybe?

Cheers guys

Mike

Just as a recommendation, you could cut the back panel out and replace it with mesh and fit a wall of 120/140mm pc fans that could be controlled directly from the PC via PWM so the pc could control the speed according to it's temperature

The cabinet needs cross-flow ventilation same as your case has. If you can use the same kind of fans all the better.
