Hey guys...

are there any DVI to HDMI adaptors...?

I have a Bravia FHD 40" but it supports 1920resolution only through HDMI inputs

with the pc input it only goes up to 1368something...

its a same really as my pc can easily handle it..

so do you of any adaptors I can get..?

ATI have video cards that put audio over hdmi usually using an adapter specific to that card othervise your looking at tapping into a seperate audio output on the pc and linking it to you tv's audio or an external reciever.

What kind of audio quality are you aiming at and do you intende to play HD discs with encrypted audio?

Since DVI and HDMI are pin compatible as you've seen the video side of things can be "converted" with a simple plug <-> plug cable, however, the audio side of things is also encoded a specific way and so to be able to provide a DVI and Audio <-> HDMI converter you'd need a box that did the A/D conversion and spoke the proper protocol. As you can imagine that would be quite costly.

My HDTV has RCA (phono) inputs that I use when powering from a computer, do you have something similar you could use?

Yeah when using DVI you need to use another cable for the sound (or exspensive converter box thing) but nearly all TV's these days have a pc audio jack socket on the back that you can pug a cable in from your pc sound card to TV.

hmm that is y the extra hole :O lol

had totaly forgot about it.... hmm don't seem to have the proper cable though

hope gaming at 1920 on a 40" rocks...

as for the sound I could move my whole 5.1 setup...
ouuuffffffffff so much hasle, so many cables.... it's a tech jungle in here
