I am about to start making all of my custom wiring for my new Prodigy build. I am creating custom length cables directly from the fully modular PSU to each component.

With my previous build, I used 4mm Teleios cable braiding. The braiding is good quality, but as it's more of a plastic, it's to rigid and doesn't like tight bends etc. As a the PSU area in the Prodigy is going to be a tight fit (even using 10mm motherboard standoffs on the PSU bracket to give extra room), I was looking at using paracord as it seems a lot softer and flexible.

Could somebody recommend where to get the right paracord, I think I am going to go with 3mm to keep the bulkyness down. I will be using mainly white braiding, with several strands of black thrown in.

try searching on the popular auction site or google
for 4mm Dense Weave Round Cable Braid
you should find what you looking for

Has anybody tried crimping paracord directly to the cable?

most paracord has a core (7 lengths of yarn) but it's very easy to remove when cut to pc sized lengths.
Not tried the direct crimp - it's easy to snag / fray so unless the end was melted into a ring first that looks quite tricky.
melting and pinching it where the wire end will give you the shrinkless look.
used some silver plated split rigs as crimps / combs too with reasonable results

Liking the look of your sleeving. I need to find a neat way of sleeving right up to the base of the pump, as I don't want to melt it.

My paracord arrived today, very impressed with the quality :D

you could try some thread of same colour and do something like shadowscotland has done
or perhaps some fishing line
