I have a few router-related questions:

- are telephone cables all pretty much the same in terms of quality, or can they have an effect on broadbands speeds?

- is there a recommended maximum length before signal quality begins to drop?

- are there any guidelines for the ideal placement of a router to maximise it's wireless strength?

Thanks!

1) Nope, quality can affect speeds. A good copper wire is recommended.

2) Not really.

3) Ideally the middle of the house if you want maximum coverage.

Cheers, I've got a collection of cables to sort through, I'll try and pick the chunkiest looking one to connect my router to the wall.
