Afternoon all,

Firstly, my first post. Yay!

Secondly, I need your advice / opinions. I have started to improve my workspace at home and cable management is a big thing for me. Maybe it's OCD, or maybe it's a mid-life crisis, who knows?!

Anyway, as you can see in the images. I'm stuck for ideas to hide these cables underneath my desk. Everything else is hidden well within the desk. My BT Router and Home Alarm system is hidden away in the small grey cabinet for the time being but I'm happy to remove or replace this. I'm trying to hide the cables as best as I can without restricting too much leg area underneath!

Let the floods of opinions commence!

welcome to the forums
as youre new
you wont be accustomed to my weird typing style :D
posting images in here is a bit of a PITA
but if you pick the imgur link for forums i think it is
then they will show directly here
saves us having to open links
but if you think thats bad
you would have a melt down looking at mine
for cables from the wall/plugs about all you can do is
hide them using a bit of white mini trunking

Thanks for you reply.

Unsure on your message regarding Imgur. I think you're trying to tell me I did it a long or incorrect way? It was my first time using it so feel free to re-educate me.

Haha, I totally understand I'm a perfectionist and I have no idea why but it's a thing. I'll take a look into trunking but it probably is one of my last attempts as I don't like it aesthetically. I'm more of a 'smart way to hide cables' by using other things.

its just if you have a load of images in your post
then people need to open them all in new tab/window
whereas you can show them
either as full size
or as a clickable thumbnail which is my preference
or as a spoiler where theyre not visible to save bandwidth i guess
but clicking the spoiler icon reveals them
must admit i havent got the hang of the spoiler part

but heres an example
you can see my image without needing to
open a link
and can click it for larger version

Right, got you!

How would I attach an image in that method using Imgur?

not used imgur in ages
i am using postimg
but it should be vaguely similar
you should have a few choices and should be something like
link for forums
thumbnail link for forums
if i could remember my imgur login i would see what
the exact text is on there

and should warn you
if its not changed new users can only post i think 15 times a day
until a certain amount of days/posts have passed
forgot exactly
to stop spam bots
but if you use reply instead it didnt use to count that as a post

Thanks for all the advice.

I'll just start using postimg, it looks easier and you don't have to create an account to use it.

that last ones from imgur
i just right clicked the image on imgur instead of clicking share
copy image address/not copy image
then in here click the insert image icon to the right of B I U etc
then paste it in
this certainly isnt the friendliest/easiest to use site for image posting
guess that saves them extra on their servers
but yeah its a PITA until you get used to it
i think thats why i left imgur and used postimg
much easier as theres a link for forums
and thumbnail link for forums option
