Just wondering, is it entirely safe to run cables behind your motherboard? Is there not a risk of melting the cables due to the heat from the motherboard?

Cheers

Well, motherboards don't get that hot?

Mine have been fine tucked away behind all my boards for the last few years. I've never smelt burning plastic yet!

They'll be fine. :)

Cool cheers mate :)

Biggest risk is damagind the cables as a result.

Depending on the case, and how high the mainboard stands fromt he chassis, you could be okay.

in a Lian Li case, the boards site veruy close to the chassis, where as in silverstone cases, generally they sit with a big gap behind them

I would advise taping the cables to the mainbaord tray, and avoid sharp pins on the back of the board.
