cable management

does anyone have gthe dimentions od the slot and hole, also how far away from the mb they are? thanks

My case aint considered good and only has 1 cutout but still able to keep tidy. But you gonna need some extension cables.
My awful cable management using some extension cables. Rest of the junk i just put under the hardrive bay

Quite tidy from the front but some cases i seen on here put mine to shame so gonna get new case soon and them yellow 6pin cables have to go :P

You only need the holes to be a cm or so away from the motherboard, and they only need to be big enough to fit all of your cables through. Personally I would work out what needs to go through and then cut a suitable sized hole.

You will likely also need a small hole at the top left of your case to allow you to fit the 8pin motherboard connection through, keeping it out of view.

On routing the cables out of view, you may find you need some extensions, so measure up before installing everything, and get the extensions if you need them.

just drawn out the holes, do they look about right?? should i change any sizes or positions??
the big one is 8cm, the middle one is 2.5cm and the small one is going to be a 10mm drill hole

looking at it i think the middle hole needs to be about twice the size??

Just think about what you need to connect up.

At the top middle of the board you may need to run fan cables down and behind the board towards a fan controller and also the 8 pin CPU connector.

Unless you have something to connect to I don't see much point in the top right hole you have.

Right side middle you have the 24 pin ATX connector.

Right side lower you have the graphics card power....

....and below that again you have your SATA connectors which will

At the bottom of your board you will have the front panel connectors.

Most cases will have one or two largeish holes at the right hand side, around the periphery of the board, one or two holes or a longer slot up top and then maybe a nice slot just next to the PSU.

Have a look at internal pictures of cases like HAF X, Corsair 600D, Antec 1200. Basically any modern non-dirt-cheap case for ideas on where to put them.

Some U channel run around the holes would make the holes look a lot better too.

Is that tiny hole on top left going to be big enough for a 8 pin CPU connector? It looks a tad small.

If there's a gap above the motherboard tray just out of shot then you probably don't but it'll look better if any cables at the top are going through holes rather than travelling those few inches. On my case the top holes are more or less flush with the top of the tray. I have four fan cables and an 8 pin connector fed through the top, there's no way that would go through that little hole.

Here is a pic of mine after an hour last night finally got it look quiet good, I think so any way.
The case is the biggest advantage in my case lots of room.

heres a pic of the back of the case, you can see how close the hole is it the top of the divider. but i do think your right it would look better if they run though the hole, how big should i make it, not sure what the 8 pin cable looks like and i think i'm going to have 5 fans in total

The 8 way will be 18mm x 15 ish (Molex drawings don't show the dimensions of the retention clip and my case is closed) so I would make a hole around 30mm x 25mm just to allow ease of fitting and to allow any additional cables to pass through. Realistically the only fans you'll have here are the rear mounted fan/s and the CPU fan/s.

Did you decide to go 2 x 80mm or 120mm on the rear? I mention it as that fan grille at the rear looks to be about one of the most restrictive I have seen for quite some time.

i'm going for a 120mm fan it shouldn't be too restrictive, its just mesh. i'll post up another pic of it when i get home, think its just the angle
will make the hole bigger for the conector
