Cable model internet and router not working

My cable modem has been working fine with my linksys router however all of a sudden today it has stopped working, I've tried resetting it and pluggin in a Dlink router and nothing is working.

Internet works fine if i plug the ethernet wire straight into my macbook but if i plug the cable into the back of the wireless routers nothing :confused:

Anyone have any ideas?

can you login to the router?

try a hard reset the router

reboot the modem and then the router.

Reset both of them with hard resets and now its working, I would love to know how things just break on their own :confused:

get a WRT54GL, and put Tomato firmware on it

super stable
