I'm on ADSL with Eclipse and was toying with the idea of switching to Virgin Media. I read about people having problems so I researched a bit and stumbled upon the cloned modem issue. 
From what I've read, VM have a head in the sand policy on this and will not publically admit that there is a problem.
Is there anything that can be done to secure a cable modem before going online for the first time? Are there certain models that are immune to cloning and can you request one?
