I'm moving to Germany where it's dsl but I have a cable router that I used on virgin. Question is will it work out in Germany.
What info do I need to know if it will.
Depends how their DSL is setup but its not generally an ethernet presentation at the wall so you'd prolly need to add an external DSL modem between the socket on the wall an the ethernet WAN port on the cable router...
I don't know if its still the case but back along I think DSL in germany was more akin to ISDN than the DSL we have in the UK and won't work with the routers typically sold here - but things might have moved on since then.
Unless they supply you with a DSL modem that has an ethernet port (like British cable modems do) no it won't. You only option will probably be to buy a new router, and this is best done in Germany.
If you buy an ADSL modem/router in the UK it will be for Annex A (ADSL over POTS) whereas I am fairly sure that the case still is in Germany that their phone system is ISDN based you will need a modem compatible for Annex B (ADSL over ISDN).
