Cable tester

There really isn’t anything between the £15 8-flashing lights units and the £700 verifier/certifiers. Generally, for home use, I plug it in and if it supports 1/2.5/5/10GbE speeds I‘m happy enough running the certifier is a bit of a pain frankly.

Makes sense.

Ok will finish terminating into the keystones and go from there and hope no probs. Then troubleshoot etc.

As above really. You can also use some network cards depending on their drivers to test a run, and some switches support the feature as well.

Yes, I’d forgotten that. I don’t know about other brands but the better TP-Link switches (the Jetstream ones) will test your cable and show which pairs (if any) are crossed or not connecting abd even roughly where along the length of the run they are damaged.
