Hi

I have looked into how to connect an external HDD to my tablet to watch videos away from home and have seen someone use a LAVA SimulCharge USB.

The Lava cable seems to be a US thing.

My external HDD does not have a power port and only has one micro usb port on it.

So i need micro usb to micro usb with power in the middle.

Does this exist?

Thanks,

Do you really need that much storage? Just load some onto USB stick and use that?

That lava thing looks pretty much like this: "
USB OTG cable for Samsung Galaxy Tab" (put into rainforest search)

Depending on the drive you might get away with just a USB OTG cable or you might also need an external power source as well and a USB data/power splitter cable.

Does the tablet have an SD card slot? might be worth using instead.

I use the G2 version of the Kingston MobileLite G3. Basically it acts like a wireless pass through router with attached storage and will power a portable (2.5") hard drive from the internal battery. I don't know about the G3 but the G2 allows you to power it via a Powerbank while simultaneously streaming a movie to your phone/tablet
