hi all,

im having an issue with a new pc and a soundcard...
have recently brought a new pc and i currently have a e-mu soundcard which has to be powered, it uses the small 3.5" floppy drive power connectors. the problem is that the psu that came with the pc is all sata, there are no standard molex power connectors only 1 of the 3.5" floppy connectors, but is on a really short cable and only reaches half way down the tower!

now, can you get extension cables for the floppy drive power connectors? i have looked all over the web, but havent had any luck. ive also looked for sata to molex cables, but all i can find is the other way round or a sata extension cable, which is no good.

is there anything that can be done? any help would be appreciated.

thanks
john

Out of interest, what PSU is this? Not come across one myself that has no molex connectors before. I've certainly come across 4 fin to 6 pin but not the other way round.

I have managed to find a molex to floppy extention but I don't think that's what you want!

well i have afound a converter from floppy power to molex power. you would just then need to find a connecto from molex to floppy to add to that dont knbow if thats any good for ya ?.

i cant post links to other sites :( i dont think even thogh this site dont sell the part

its made by belkin part number F2N507ea

firstly im not sure of the exact make, but it begins with B, but the pc is a dell. im guessing there all custom made just for the components inside the machine, it only has to sets of cables coming from the psu, a long and a short, both with just sata ports.

ive managed to locate a site that sells them, but its an american site, they do a couple of varations. but no luck locating any over here.

i think im gonna have to cut one of the sata plugs off and fit a molex connector. not the best option but it needs to be sorted soon.

thanks
