cables for eyefinity displayport

Aye, that would be fine - so long as the graphics card has a full-size displayport output (not a mini-displayport output).

If you card only has mini-displayport outputs then you will need a cable like the "StarTech.com Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter Cable" for ~£6.

It'll need to be an Active adaptor as well - whether this is self powered from the gfx card port, or off a USB doesnt seem to matter.

I used the one made by XFX for my 6950 to a 3rd DVI monitor.

If the monitor has a displayport input then he won't need an active adapter - just a passive cable.

However, if he is using a monitor with only DVI/HDMI/VGA inputs as a 3rd monitor then you are quite correct - an active adapter would be required.

Oops. Agreed, if its a Displayport monitor then just a displayport cable of whatever fullfat / skinny connection.

I thought this was the usual DP / DVI / Eyefinity thread.

-1 Net points for me.

little bit miffed that OCUK don't do a mDP to DP cable, it's making things a bit more tricky.

OCUK, if you have one lying around, let me know - 3 Dell 24" monitor purchases would be yours :)
