I've just aquired a Gigabyte RTX 2060 mini OC (bare card). Still using a Dell 2407wfp (Rev A04) monitor.

Hadn't anticipated the lack of DVI output on the card, so I'll need to use either an HDMI or Displayport to DVI-D cable.

Is there any advantage at all of using one over the other?

Edit: If it makes any difference - from the card's specs
  • DisplayPort 1.4 | HDMI 2.0b
Monitor's native resolution is 1920*1200. Far too ancient for HDR etc. No sound.

I think I'm going displayport. The rationale being that I have other devices such as a TV, receiver, projector that will take HDMI. There is only one HDMI port. There are 3 Displayports. Hence using just one for this monitor seems like the most sensible option in case I move things around in future.

Yeah it will make no difference whether you use display port or hdmi, so as you say use up the one you have more of and keep the hdmi for things that actually need it
