So are you going to say or do we have to guess?

why the roll eyes?

that stepping could be applied to any number of chips.

Just because needmorespeed has a 146 with that stepping, it doesn't give us the ability to predict what chip you have!

Just received my Opty 146 this morning and it's exactly the same stepping as in the thread title.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to have the chance to try mine out anytime soon, so I'll be interested to know how you guys get along. Sounds like the stepping is not that great compared to others, but I'll be happy enough if I can get somewhere near 2.8 :)

I've seen this stepping Opteron 146 max out 2.8-2.9GHz on 1.6v so I don't think 3GHz is doable unless you have very good cooling ie. Phase.

i have just got this chip.its o/c to 2.9 everything default on asus a8n premium
went to 3.00 won't boot.i will up the volts later to get to 3.00.
i hope it works. 2001 score on 2.9 is 28523.
can anyone get better on this stepping?

Is that stable though bestyboy? I'm sceptical because all the results I've seen with this stepping take significant volts to reach 2.9GHz stable.. unless your chip is just unique in comparison. Either way, nice clock. :)
