I like Cadburys chocolate (caramel is my fav) and haven't noticed any difference since being taken over, until I had some Roses over Xmas. Now at the time I couldn't quite put my finger on it but something wasn't quite right but it'd be rude to refuse so I scoffed away merrily.

Now however the mini-eggs have already started showing up in shops and they taste horrible! It's really obvious that the chocolate tastes like the Yank crap you can buy in Asda and is quite "gritty" in comparison.

I realise that Cadburys is sold globally and that different countries will have different tastes in chocolate but please leave our stuff alone, we like it exactly how it was. Like the Coke Vs Coke Classic uproar, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Interestingly "new coke" out performed classic coke in every blind taste test.

It was only when people were told it was new that they decided they didn't like it.

I was smashing through Roses over christmas and never noticed any differance...

Havent tried Mini Eggs in a while so couldnt possibly comment.

oh so they changed coke of taste? no wonder when i recently drank coke (bottled) it tasted different and i didnt like it, too sweet and not enough fizz or something.. although i was thinking maybe i got hooked to drinking canned coke :s

No, New Coke happened years ago and was a big fiasco, canned and bottled generally tastes different.

Or when they had to drink a whole bottle of the stuff rather than the sip you take in a blind taste test. The new Coke taste was featured on Evan Davies' biggest business disasters programme last year, fascinating stuff.

As for Cadbury's, I haven't knowingly bought any of their products since they got taken over.

Indeed, this makes all the difference, I prefer the sweeter taste of Pepsi, but drinking a whole glass of it, it's too sweet.

It's probably why Pepsi always trumps Coke in blind taste tests as well.

We had Roses this year at christmas and was generally disappointed with the lack of selection rather than taste. Once you've had the Dairy Milk Bar, Hazelnut Whirl and Purple one, it gets boring.

Gotta say i completly disagree.

I remember in previous years their being loads left in the tin usually crappy coconut or something (both Quality Street and Roses). Now in Roses their all class.

Just my houses personal tastes of course but we have both Roses and Quality Streets this year and suffice to say the Roses were gone and the QS had many left over.

A few years ago I think they changed the fillings in Roses chocolates, seem to be an awful lot more soft centres rather than Toffees.

Also did anyone notice, the depth of the tins seems to have shrunk too.

Go to the Republic and try irish Cadburys, tasts marginally different but many people seem to agree with the myth that its better...
