Hi,

Has anyone used CAE Linux. What are your thoughts on it?

I'm looking to use it as a primary OS for a new machine I'll build in the coming months, solely for research and CFD.

Even if it wasn't I'm not sure I entirely see the point of this, I'd personally just grab the latest ubuntu and install the apps myself.

EDIT: Ah not dead, still I personally would just do it myself on latest ubuntu, 10.04 is old news.

I'm a complete and utter NOOB when it comes to Linux. Having them pre-installed will save me a lot of headache.

It's as easy as opening the software centre and selecting which applications you want to install. You can't fail!
