Café De Paris, Monte-Carlo

Mrs Youstolemyname and I popped over to Nice for a week's sunshine and took a day trip to Monaco. We thought it would be good to have a spot of lunch in the Café de Paris, overlooking the casino square for a bit of people watching.

I chose the Club Sandwich and an Orangina. The mrs had a Morelli's ice cream sundae.

The sundae was great but have a look at the insipid, flavourless excuse of a club sandwich hiding in the background. And guess how much this little lot set us back

42 Euro!! Insane! No wonder Monaco is the preserve of the rich and famous! It was a lovely setting though, just an incredibly disappointing (and border-line theft!) excuse of a sandwich!

Everywhere else we ate in Monaco was much more reasonable. The little café outside the palace is great

Yep, was a great way to spend an hour or so, spotted some great cars including a Ferrari Enzo...rare as hen's teeth. From memory I think it was about €9 for a half of Heineken...

Yeah, we looked at that! Am sure the food would have been outstanding. The Cafe de Paris sandwich was very poor...

Can't actually remember where we ate, but 3 courses for 6 of us came to just over €200, not bad at all.

We saw loads of mini mokes too! With hindsight we should have ate at the bistro but wanted a prime view of the square. Bistro wanted 27 euro for a burger which is better value in some ways..
