Hey folks

Im not one for just liking one style of bike. Love trikes Super sports, Customs and anything with two wheels really.

Recently had a right hankering for a café racer style project.

Has anyone here got anything like it or experience with them.

Seriously would love one as a rebuild project.

Cheers chaps

My dad's of that age, he had a few when he was younger, mostly Nortons I think.

Seen a wicked picture one of his that had drop handlebars, straight pipes I think, in metalflake purple. I'll get him to dig it out and some point and scan it. Wicked looking bike.

I'd really like to build one one day too, modern or classic.

This is sweet :)

I'm currently building a Triton, slimeline frame with a fair bit of work done and a T120 unit motor. The project has been on hold for roughly a year. There was a thread on here a while back.

Right I know im getting the CB250 now. Unsure if its an 83 or 84 but know what I'm aiming for

Should have the bike in the next month Still a while but need to clear room for it and do a few jobs to get money for it.

Not 100% cafe racer but could all change lol

Thats based on a CD250u IIRC, do much want that though, looked for a CD250 for a while to do same but theyre quite rare I found.

People keep mentioning I may have issues with such chunky tyres. but then no one comes up with what may actually b the issue. any ideas?

Only thing i can think of is because there so big they may flex and pop off the rim?

Seriously doubt that would happen is the rims and tyre are matched properly!
I think Ive read people doing similar had clearence issues with rear swing arm and forks under side load, plus it could be a bit of a space hopper ride!
Still mega cool though.

A Superdream! Getting rarer these days, hardly ever see them around. I had a 250 Superslug..err dream when I was 19, weighed a tonne and was embarrassed by most 125 two stroke bikes, but it was utterly reliable and actually handled pretty well.
