Anyone got a tried and tested recipe for calamari batter?

Because I am a bit of a spack and can't "go by taste" (don't know what I would need more/less of). Id prefer exact measurements of things.

I just use a basic tempura batter - makes a light batter that lets the calamari be the star. This should do about 1kg calamari

75g (1/2 cup) cornflour (cornstarch)
75g (1/2 cup) plain flour
1 egg, lightly beaten
188ml (3/4 cup) cold soda water

Sift flours together in a medium bowl. Add egg and soda water and mix until just combined (it is okay if the batter is a little lumpy). Allow batter to stand for a few minutes. Dip calamari in then allow excess to drain off. Deep fry until batter is lightly browned.
