I am trying to work out the cheapest way of printing approximately 1000 leaflets.

They are double sided so that's actually 2000 prints, A4 in size.

It's about 80% text and 20% image, they are in colour.

I think there are 3 options. Professional printers, Colour Laser or Colour Inkjet.

The Colour Laser I have been looking at apparently works out at around 10p a page, seems rather steep if you ask me.

Ink for my R200 comes in at around £10 for all 6 carts. I have no idea how many prints I can expect to achieve with these though, any rough ideas?

It would be very unusual for an inket to work out cheaper than a laser printer.

Inkjets tend to only get a couple of hundred pages per cart, at about 5-10% coverage if memory serves.

When you use the R200/R300 after you have printed one out you should get a message saying that you can print x amount the same as the last.

if you want them to look professional then take them to a print shop and ask for a quote. Im sure they could do you a deal with that many prints.

Thanks guys. :D

I am going to get a pro-job quote tomorrow.

Colour lasers seem to be around £300-£400 for a SOHO model.
