Caldigit TS5 Plus

It does look good doesn't it - I never thought I'd be seeing bandwidth limitations with TB4 but trying to connect multiple 5k screens to a dock was a pain. I ended up with one of these Ivanky units that has dual TB4 feeds (so two separate busses effectively) to solve it.

I've a TB5 NVMe drive and the performance is awesome.

Yeah, I notice I have hit TB4 limit if I plug one of my USB4 into the back of the Caldigit's TB4 point as I am running 2 monitors off the Caldigit too, one is 4k+ and one a 3k monitor.

The SSD doesn't run at the same speed vs plugged direct into the back of the Mac Mini.

Yeah it's expensive but so was the TS4 when that launched (I think its £70 more than the TS4 at launch). I will get one of these but as I'm in no hurry I will wait for black friday or similar inevitable deals. In reality I'd rather they actually made a mac with this amount of ports built in and charged me another £500 for the privilege. Here buy a tiny PC and have half a dozen extras jutting off at reduced speed!

I upgraded to this from a TS3+, mainly for 10Gbit ethernet and support for my 4K 240Hz monitor, plus potential extra side monitor soon. The extra charging capabilities should be useful too.

It certainly was pricey but a great piece of kit.

Bah, the 20w port on the front of my TS4 has died....

On the Apple page there is no way to request support for a non-apple product ? It seems I need to call them, online chat goes round in circles.
