Calibrating a new TFT

Is there a free program or the like to help sort the colours and brightness on my new monitor?

The nVidia thingum does it fine for me. No idea if ATi have a similar thingum in their software.

Yep. I tried a few different things as a result of this thread, and gave myself a headache.

All forms of calibration I've seen so far work on the same principle, and I still say the nVidia one on their control panel is the best one, plus it's far better on your eyes.

One thing they did show me was the limitations of my monitor. I ended up looking at the very high end 24 inch ones OcUK sells. I can't justify buying one though, but I did notice my Dell flicker slightly once yesterday, so if it's on the way out then I'll HAVE to buy a new one...
