I received my SM206BW this morning and just my luck its the A Panel which I'm a bit disapointed wtih but hey,No swearing! happens.
But have been reading the posts on the 226BW and have noticed that with a little calibration the A Panel can work just as good as the S Panel.
The thing is I dont know what I'm doing and what to look for. So how do I go about optimizing my shiny new monitor for best results, oh and without paying for any programs.
Cheers.

Unlucky, everyone else seems to have 'S' panels.

I'd return it under the Distance selling act (7 days from purchase) and get another.

I never got mine from OcUK and I've set it all up and everything now.

No matter where i got it from I would send it back under the DSA.

If you deffo are going to keep it then Ive heard Spyder2 is great for calibrating them.

I know its not the best pic but how bad is this monitor bleed?? Is this bad enough that I should be sending it back??

i would not call that bleed at all, most models suffer from some uniformity issues owing to the construction and use of CCFL backlighting. That looks pretty good to me

i have got the 'A' model and i am very happy with it. i can just see very little bleeding on the top and bottom. Played quake4 and operation Flashpoint on it and i love it.
The only thing i have to work is that the Red color is too rich other then that i am glad i bought and i am not worried at all that it isn't a 'S' screen.....

Thats some reassurance that they're not all bad. But saying that I've had to send mine back. I turned it on this morning to hear a buzzing sound, it died off after about 30 seconds but I switched it off and back on again and it buzzed so its going back for a replacement. Boo. :(

Just connected mine up and was frantic with worry due to a constant flickering that I couldn't get rid of. It turned out to be a slightly loose DVI cable so be sure to tighten them up properly. :)

BTW: ordered at 4-30 pm yesterday and delivered at 10 this morning. Thanks Overclockers.

Only playing, I have an aspanel and my mate has recieved an a panel and to tell you the truth nothing in it, this situation has become out of control now, everyone requesting wanting S Panel, there is no difference what I can see, most samsung plasmas are not samsung panels, lg has a samsung I think. I just dont see what is so great about a samsung panel over another panel, does the same job, come on get a grip and dont be driven mad!!!
