last week or two ive been getting/hearing loud pad clatter after braking heavy

any idea's? discs and calipers look alright to me,:(

Mmm, odd one, I've had a bit of rattling on cars in the past when the pads haven't been perfectly seated in the holders... not had it on a bike though.

So is it when you release the brakes or during at the end of heavy breaking? So nothing in steady breaking?

I had something very similar, it eventually turned into a "tick tick tick" when moving a low speeds. Replacing both the spring, and top shim in my Brembo brakes solved it :)

just after heavy braking as the discs get hot I imagine, light braking it doesn't do it,i don't feel any judder either

had a look and the pad retaining pins look a little worn, idk if that's helping or not

Maybe you lost one of the little metal bits that secure the pads in? My Hornets ones were terrible, wouldn't be surprised if they had fallen out while riding at some point.

It's depressing me ATM,bloody bikes

Gotta try n find out what it is,gotta fit a new rad fan switch aswell

Yup, that's how I felt about my Hornet almost every day, then when I fixed it it used to take the whole weekend for a simple job. That's why I just got a new bike. Sounds like you need a new bike :D

I know how you felt,I couldn't be without it though I've had it too long

I'm gonna try and bag a cat c bike that I've got my eye on

Trouble with new bikes you have to be so carefully not to scratch them ect,old bangers you worry less

This is true. I bought mine with doing as much tinkering as I can in mind. At least then I can learn without crapping myself that I'm messing up a new bike

Yh I'd have your hornet, they are decent bikes,if my zx10 wasn't so thirsty I'd use that

I don't mond tinkering on them either, but sometimes it can do your nut in when all you wanna do is ride

EDIT: went for a ride/commute today and it was fine,i did file the retaining pins a little though,

Still doing it,pretty sure I have a very slight warped right hand disc, gonna get it checked out and see if they can straighten it
