Call of Duty 2 Crashes

Downloaded this from Steam.

Will play fine for about ... 10 - 15 minutes, then funny colored lines appear and and the screen goes black. The computer won't respond and I have to manually restart.

Q6600 running at stock speeds.
8800 GT.
4GB DDR2 ram.
Vista x64 Home premium.

Running at 1680x1050 resolution.

Which grfx drivers are you using?

I got it from here its 600 watts?
seasonic ? or something sparkle ! can't remember off the top of my head.

Not had a crash like this before, plays Crysis, Call of Duty 4, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress two ect ect all fine.

Are you playing on DX9 or 7?

Hmm I had an issue with COD2 crashing my whole system. I switched to DX9 and that solved it. All I can suggest is tweak you graphics settings.

Yeah, it was on auto.

Put it onto DX9 and everything is fine
