Call of duty 2 troubles- ARGH

So , i got COD 2 as a gift to myself a few weeks ago. Did not install it as my comp was being silly (lol).

Anyway, installed it, and everything. Then I used the cd key, installed the latest patch (1.01??) and tryed to play online - Error Bad CD key. Ok, fine I reinstalled.

Same error, so I called up activision, I got the cd and all that so I thought they might give me a new cd key, they said nope, they will never give em out, so I was like ok then. I went back to game, and they said that Nope, they wont return PC games,

I was like ok crap, what do I do now?

If the CD key isn't valid then the game is faulty and GAME have to accept it as a return. Go back and tell them that.

Only a dual core patch, that actually makes the game close to unplayable with a dual core CPU.

Yeah the game is doing my head in a little ATM, a lot of the servers seemed to change a while back and I struggle to get a decent game now. I suppose what annoys me most is that I get disconnected from a few of the best severs everytime a new round starts, I have a top notch system and have done the tweaks but still I get dropped

dont know what the problem is as its been mainly fine on my AMD X2 4400+

Dual core patch increased my framerate, and decreased my loading times on my rig. (A64 3800+ X2 based).
