Call Of Duty 4 MW GOTY all patched up?

Just wondering if COD4 MW GOTY Edition needs the patches or whether it's all patched up and ready to go.

I've tried to look for the version number in game but can't seem to find it.

hmm odd, it should be there like 1.7.0.234.1 or something like that.

Other option is to go into the directory where you installed it and look for a file called "version" and look for:

ExtVersion=1.7

this says I have version 1.7
 
But doesn't it already have all the maps that were in the 1.6 patch already? I presumed a GOTY edition would have?

AHarvey, I still can't find anything like 'ExtVersion'.
 
I've also just read online 'Only install patch 1.7 on the GOTY edition (it's pre-patched to 1.6). ...'.

ffs, why didn't I just buy a ******* PS3? I forgot all the fannying around you have to do regarding PC gaming! :mad:

It would appear that it's patched up to and including 1.6. I'll try just installing 1.7 next.

I'm just wondering.

I've bought a pre owned copy of COD4 MW GOTY. Well, it says that on the case yet there is no mention of GOTY Edition on the actual from of the DVD!

Can someone check their GOTY Edition disk and see if there's any mention of 'GOTY' on it? I'm beginning to suspect that I've got a non GOTY disk inside a GOTY case. :(

Mmmm, looks like I've been had! I know the XBox and PS3 discs have 'Game of the Year Edition' written on them.

Anyway, 1.6 and 1.7 installed and everything seems fine.

Instruction booklet doesn't appear to have anything about 'Game of the Year' edition written on it either.

is there any decent online community on this game, ive loaded it up a few times recently and played some, but frankly there are more cod2 servers!
 
All I needed were 1.6 and 1.7. Everything is fine now.

Can anyone confirm that COD4 MW GOTY had it ('GOTY Edition') written on the actual DVD and instruction booklet?

I've got a case with 'GOTY Edition' written on it but not the DVD or booklet. It's the first and last time I use the rainforest Marketplace!

I'm really enjoying the single player so far. I'm struggling early on in the TV station though.
