Call of duty 4 patch issues

I've installed call of duty with no problems, (got it this morning).. however when i try to install patch 1.4 (the lowest i could find) i get a warning saying it cant find a valid install of cd4... (and yes it is valid) any ideas?

Why not use the latest patch which I believe is 1.6 (I played it at launch without any issues BTW).

If you have used a No/DVD, you may need put your Original .EXE back in to patch it.

The lowest patch I have is 1.2 so maybe that will do the trick and let you install 1.4 etc, I may be able to e-mail it you as an attachment if you like.

If you have any erroneous symbols in the pathname it might not like those. For example: -=Games=- .

thanks, i'l try the 1.6 patch... see what happens.
