call of duty 4 problem ??

When i run COD4, either multiplayer or single player, i get the little graphic preboot thing which says modern warfare, then the black screen, i can hear the start up to the game looping but no display.

when i go to task manager, its "not responding".

so i have to end it and run it in safemode on next start up and it works fine, albeit losing all my settings.

in otherwords i have to do this everytime i wish to play the game, which is annoying.

is this common ?

If you go over the main COD thread someone else is having graphic issues, he's trying the beta drivers to solve this problem might be worth trying or having a quick read
