used to happen to me on cod uo i think, after a reinstall it would always say something had been changed. never fixed it.

you could try a reinstall maybe?

Thought this was self explanatory. New hardware, so it will reconfigure according to that. If you want to maintain your settings press No. Happens all the time to everyone that plays the game.

You have speedstep on (Cool'n'Quiet for AMD). When you load the game and your CPU speed is different from last time, it will think you have a different CPU installed.

Is there anyway to sort the problem out or not, i played the game last night and it crashed said it had a problem with the (iw3mp.exe) cant understand why i have a problem with this game when my new system is way better then my old and my old one never had this problem, i hate when things dont work right lol.

what have u changed in ur system that message will come up if the game crashes will also come up if uve changed hardware or drivers best thing to do is hit yes and change the options ingame again

I havnt changed any settings at all or added any new hardware or drivers since installed the game, ive even uninstalled and reinstalled but still same, really wierd lol.

This makes sense, my CPU is at 2.3 at idle but 3.2 under load and everytime i exit CoD4 i get the iw3mp.exe error and i have to click NO everytime i start the game as others have to in this thread, the CPU clock changing looks like its causing it.
