... as well as the usual suspects 360 and PS3. But when they intend on bringing it to every platform under the sun it makes one question their motives.

The majority of the financial talk dealt with the company's two bread winners, Call of Duty and Guitar Hero. Another Call of Duty title was discussed to continue the series of annual releases. This does not necessarily mean that it will be titled Call of Duty 5 or that Infinity Ward will be working on it. In addition to the platforms Call of Duty 4 was released on, this next CoD game will come out on Wii and PS2.

Stuff like this really make me weep for the state of gaming.

That's incredibly annoying. I'd expect a Wii version, but the PS2 version is criminal, though it will be okay as long as they are developed seperately, PS2 and Wii by one department, PS3 and Xbox360 by another.

I think that pretty much confirms that Infinity Ward aren't doing it.

They did a splendid job with COD4, I have every faith that the quality of the 360 and PS3 versions will not suffer.

Oh.

****.

Yeah, Infinity Ward did CoD 1 2 and 4. The people behind the abominations Big Red One and 3 are doing 5. It's part of the grand plan of milking the franchise for absolutely everything it's got.

Call of Duty is now up there in scope with the likes of Halo, and yet the series is not being treated with the respect it deserves.

Yep this will be crap, this is the thing i hate most about consoles. Stupid money makers that are vastly inferior to the other games in the series.

I'd quite like a Vietnam game. Battlefield: Vietnam was a great effort, but at the time I remember thinking it was too soon to try and make that game, would be perfect now.

I think people are looking at this from the wrong perspective, think of it as bringing the cod4 playing experiance to the ps2 and the wii, but considering this is an enthusiast forum we will not be the ones to appreciate this move. Can just pray they can make it a decent experiance on all consoles without crippling it too much.

In my opinion it should just be called cod4: expansion (but with a better name)

Uhm, it's not related to Call of Duty 4 at all. It's not even the same developer. I don't know why you view it as 'bring the cod4 playing experience' to Wii and PS2, because it's not. Call of Duty 3 and Big Red One were mediocre and generally bland and insignificant additions to the genre that did not capitalize and expand on the successes and good aspects of the Infinity Ward-made games at all. This is a completely different developer to the good Call of Duty games. One with a bad track record.

It cannot possibly be associated with Call of Duty 4 except in name, and definitely won't be anywhere near the standard. Activision has said it themselves, they want to exploit (in their very own words!) the franchise and milk it for all it's got. Take a realistic view of it.

You're not gonna get anything like CoD4, be it in terms of gameplay or pedigree. It's going back to PS2, it's going to Wii, it's going back to World War II when we thought it was finally dead and done with, and it's going back to the same tired old rubbish developer. :(
